WALT: I am learning to use descriptive vocabulary in my writing.
Over the lock down we did so many different things. We baked, I played with my pet rabbit, but my
favourite activities were when we went surfing on ninety mile beach and hiking on the Puketi Nature trail.
In lock down my 2 favourite days were in level 2 first when we went surfing I was bursting with excitement and started to get ready. When I got in the ocean water sprayed in my face I froze for a few seconds then paddled out on my board.I waited a few minutes then finally saw a wave when it came closer I layed down on my board and started paddling towards shore when the wave came I paddled then stood up it felt amazing. After me Faye and Teo caught a few waves we went home.
My next favourite day was when me, my Mum,Faye and Teo went for a hike on the Puketi Nature trail. I was very happy and started to pack I brought my camera so I could take photos of all the plants and native birds. The nature trail was 40 minutes away I sat in the car tired and waited till we got there. When we arrived I felt amazed when I walked down the trail and saw all the different plants, trees and birds. My favourite part of the hike was when I saw a colorful Tui in a tree. When we finished the hike I was exhausted but I’m still super excited for the next time I do this hike.
Even though we were in lock down, I had a great time with my whanau. As you can see I loved walking in the Puketi Forest and surfing, two of my favourite things to do.Those are the reasons why they were my two favourite days in lock down. I would recommend you did these activities too.
Reflection: I enjoyed writing about my lock down but I found it hard to find good descriptive vocab to add in.
What were your favourite days in lock down and why?
