Tane & the three kete of knowledge retelling

Tane wanted to get the three kete before Whiro. He knew Whiro would not use them for good.Tane began by climbing the whirlwinds that his brother Tawhirimatea created. He climbed to the second overworld then onto the third. Whiro, his evil brother, was following him because he wanted to get to the three kete before him. Whiro sent his followers the owls, bats, mosquitos and sandflies to attack Tane. Tane’s brother Tawhirmatea blew the attackers to the corners of the heavens.Tane climbed to the eleventh overworld where he found Po-motomoto (the gateway to heaven) where he met Rehua the god of kindness. Rehua gave Tane the three kete of knowledge.Tane was climbing down with the kete when he met with Whiro in the ninth overworld there was a huge battle. Tane was beaten again but this time the knowledge in the kete made him stronger.Tane banished Whiro to the underworld and his friends the owls, bats, mosquitoes and sandflies came to earth where they are still pests today.

Cross country

WALT : We are learning to set goals and how we can achieve them. 

1. Jog around the school 5 times  

Don’t stop

 2. Run 2 kilometres after school everyday

  Pace yourself 

3. Come top ten in cross country 

 Train everyday

Reflection:I enjoyed setting goals and finding out how I can achieve them.I think it was tricky to find out different ways to achieve my goals

The Great Reading Adventure Assembly

On Friday Te Tinana and Te Manga did an assembly about the Great Reading Adventure we walked up to the Whare I was a character from Harry Potter my costume was a black cloak with the Hogwarts symbol I also had a shiny gold wand.

When everyone had their costumes on the assembly started I was really nervous at the start of the assembly. The first part was about Scruffy/Kaydee thinking reading was boring so Duffy/Arahia took scruffy on the great reading adventure!

The first scene was Cat in the Hat. Cat in the hat was Hori and Thing 1 and Thing 2 were Alani and Awhitia they came out to the Pink Panther theme song. Alani and Awhi were wearing puffy red wigs that was my favourite scene everybody was laughing loudly.
